Abstract:
In recent years, the applications of BIM technology in the construction industry has attracted increasing domestic and international attentions, which is definitely becoming the future trend of construction technology. As the first step in BIM implementation, the creation of the BIM model is of great significance to the successful application and promotion of BIM. The IFC data criterion, as an international common BIM basic data format, enables the BIM model following such IFC format to transfer and exchange information among different AEC engineering software. However, different software currently support the IFC formats at different scopes and for different degrees. This paper collates and analyzes the IFC2X3 support statistics in the current mainstream BIM software of Coordination View Certification 2.0 project in Building SMART, and obtains a BIM modeling software selection method based on the IFC certification, providing a software reference for BIM applications with different project characteristics, and promoting the development of IFC criterions and the popularity of BIM technology.

Abstract:
With the growing amount of existing structures, it becomes a more obvious problem for the maintenance management of existing structures. However, in the engineering practice, integration of information for existing structures is a tricky problem in the maintenance management. By using the BIM technology and IFC standard, a practical way to integrate appraisal and strengthening information for existing structures is proposed. By means of extending property in IFC standard, the basic appraisal information in the levels of structural system and structural members can be integrated. And for the five common strengthening methods for reinforced concrete structural members, the strengthening information of members can also be integrated. The integrated information could be read by any piece of software that support IFC standard. Finally, a system for maintenance of existing structures is designed on the basis of the proposed model, and it has been validated to be applicable by a practical engineering practice.

Abstract:
In this paper, the BIM technology is applied in the design of high-rise residential buildings, to launch analysis and research on several key technologies. A BIM-based multi-disciplinary modeling architectural form and a datum-providing method in collaborative process are introduced in the paper, and a GDAD-PCMIS collaborative management system is developed to meet the needs of multi-party collaboration. A shape-nesting plan-design module is developed, which is able to form various building plans through combining different flexible modules with the fixed modules. An application method of component part based on linkage function is proposed to ensure the unity of component detail drawings and 3D models, as well as a prefabricated component part library is established to embody the accumulation of the component parts. The cost composition of the prefabricated building is also discussed to analyze the impacts of different prefabricated component combinations on the economic benefits of the buildings. The assistive calculation software on the prefabrication rate and assembly rate is also developed to enhance the design efficiency of prefabricated high-rise residential buildings.

Abstract:
The engineering cost control is crucial in the construction industry, and structural optimization is a key step for the project cost control.Traditional structural optimization always pays too much attention on structural reliability, including the safety, applicability and durability of the structure, whose target is too single and focused, which could hardly consider the overall collaboration of structural optimization with other professionals or during the construction stage. The BIM technology possesses the advantages of visualization, parameterization and coordination, which is able to reduce errors, improve efficiency and achieve standardized design.By using BIM-related platform, this paper firstly establishes an architectural and structural model for a project case study. In the premise of ensuring structural reliability, the influences of factors including reinforcement amount, cast-in-place concrete template volume, formwork area, artificial consumption, and etc.of the project are overall considered to put forward the final structure scheme.Different project construction costs of all these structural schemes are also analyzed to propose a BIM-based structure optimization process. The result shows that by utilizing BIM technology, structural optimization is more effective with more reasonable layout scheme, lower project construction cost, and a more simplified optimization design process, which helps the project participants to control the cost of the project more directly.

Abstract:
In the engineering project, the engineering quantity statistics is a tedious but important work. According to the actual demand of the project, the engineering quantity statistics is necessarily to be carried out for many times at different stages. However, the traditional application of manual(manual or professional budget software)statistics method is heavy in workload and is totally dependent on the fineness of the statistical process. This paper applies the Revit and Tekla software, respectively, to establish the BIM models, with all components and nodes of steel structure expressed, for the statistics on the quantity of various projects based on classifications. The analysis results show that the two software both can obtain accurate engineering quantities, which provides a true and reliable basis for the implementation of the project. The practice in this paper provides a powerful feasibility demonstration and specific operation method for the precise calculation of steel structure by Revit.

Abstract:
The application of BIM technology in prefabricated buildings is aiming at achieving complete plan, precise design, construction simulation and analytical deduction, which ensures the accuracy of the model, and achieves fast, qualified and accurate models and drawings. This paper discusses five methods to effectively improve the design efficiency of prefabricated components, including the PLANBAR prefabricated design, the GDL parameterized design, optimization of pre-embedding design, one-button drawing, and proofreading optimization. Through the analytic demonstration of a case study that compares the five methods, the PLANBAR prefabricated design is the best one with 65% efficiency improved on average compared with using the CAD 2D platform under the same condition. If provided with the design material list, the design efficiency will be improved more obviously. The paper also put forward the next-step direction of efficiency promotions, through the analysis of practical application data.

Abstract:
This paper introduces the geological conditions, supporting form and construction process of the engineering site of the support structure engineering for super-deep foundation pit of North Anchorage in Wuhan Yangsigang Yangzi River Bridge. The calculation model is established by using the 3D finite element analysis software, MIDAS GTS NX, with the interaction forces of soil and support structures considered. The numerical simulation of the excavation and support of the soil is carried out. Combined with the monitoring data of the field, the degeneration characteristics and the stress characteristics of the supporting structure in different excavation stages are obtained. The results show that the calculation results are in good agreement with the variation trend of the field monitoring data in the process of deep foundation pit construction, and that extra attentions should be paid on the control of the excessive deformation of the ground caused by excavation and the internal force of the supporting structure.

Abstract:
In order to determine the structural safety of steel structure engineering, and to evaluate whether the construction results meet the design, it's necessary to apply the real-time monitoring of the stress and deformation of the main structure members in the construction process. Thus we have designed and developed an automatic real-time online monitoring system for the stress and deformation, and applied the system in the steel structure project of Hangzhou International Expo Center. The application results shows that the system is stable in operation, with reliable data and high precision, which effectively guides the project construction, and ensures the quality and safety of the structure in the construction process.

Abstract:
The parametric design is extensively used in the field of architecture, especially for the structure design of complex limit-exceed projects.Structure engineers should closely cooperate with architects to accomplish the structural modeling analysis with the aid of parameterized tools. The parametric platform based on Rhino and Grasshopper, which is the dominant parameterized platform currently, not only expends the imagination for architectural design, but also extends the ideas of solving the problem for structure design. This paper introduces the concept and development of parametric design, and shows its advantages in programming, visuality and secondary development scalability. The basic procedure of parametric modeling based on Grasshopper is described with an example, which shows its merits in multi scheme design study and dealing with changes. Meanwhile, the application cases of Grasshopper in super high-rise, long-span and nonlinear shell complex structures are also analyzed, which provides new ideas for structural engineers to solve complex problems.
