The application of BIM (Building Information Model) technology in the construction industry is in its most blooming period ever. Under the guidance of the Guidance on Promoting the Application of Building Information Model and Informatization Development Outline of Construction Industry 2016-2020 published by the MOHURD in 2015, the application of BIM in the construction industry is truly enforced and implemented, especially in the major engineering projects. More recently, a study on the topic of Evaluation on the Development Level of Informatization in Construction Industry is also ongoing by the MOHURD, which surely will promote better application of the BIM technology.
The 5th International Technical Symposium on the Applications of BIM Technology in Design, Construction and Real Estate Enterprise Collaborative Work is scheduled to be held on Oct. 29th-31st, 2018 in Beijing. The 1st Symposium was held in the year of 2010, and then the session lasts to be held every second year, which four sessions have been held so far. Each session has attracted over 500 participants for its high quality, rich and novel reports, and wide discussion topics, which has been staying at the forefront of technology and received much favorable comments from the representatives.
