The Practice of BIM Technology in Large-Scale Complex Projects under the EPC Mode

The EPC general contracting management mode encompasses the entire process of design, procurement, construction, and optimization, among other phases. Given the long cycle, diverse specialties, high precision requirements, and the management side's lack of experience associated with EPC projects, achieving ideal outcomes can be challenging. In particular, the integration between design and construction is notably difficult, complicating the maximization of benefits. This study explores how BIM technology, with its professional data support and capabilities for visual and analog simulations, can enhance key aspects of construction drawing design changes, budget preparation, and construction processes. By leveraging digital results for reliable analysis and decision-making, the study aims to improve the standardization of EPC project products, management, and processes, thereby advancing the digital transformation of the construction industry.
