Parametric Design Method for Ringlock Scaffolding Modeling Based on Dynamo

  • Currently, Dynamo-based parametric modeling is primarily applied in the fields of municipal engineering, bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure, as well as in the modeling of complex geometries and large-scale structural forms. However, research on parametric modeling for construction measures models—such as temporary facilities including scaffolding and formwork support systems—remains relatively scarce. This article introduces the parametric modeling method of using the Dynamo plugin in Revit for a buckle scaffold, and details the geometric construction, parametric design method, and implementation process of the scaffold in Dynamo.Through practical case testing, the results demonstrate that Dynamo-based parametric modeling can rapidly and automatically generate models based on different scaffold layouts (e.g., varying vertical, horizontal, and longitudinal spacing configurations), effectively avoiding repetitive and mechanical modeling tasks, significantly reducing design time, and achieving intelligent modeling. Furthermore, this paper presents a general framework for parametric modeling of construction measures models.
