The Structure Design of 27.80-meter-curtain Wall for North Entrance of Nanjing South Station

  • Nanjing South Station is the large passenger station for Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway. The façade glass curtain wall over ground is exposed frame glass curtain wall and the maximum distance of frame Structure between fulcrums is the 27.8 meters, which belongs to typically large space and long-span structure. Because of the common effect of associated structure (rafters) and subsidiary structure (grilles), the suspension structure design for curtain wall is very complicated. In this paper, the north entrance curtain wall of Nanjing South Station is discussed and the solution of suspension structure for curtain wall is introduced. Finally, it reveals the method of long-span curtain wall design.
