As one of the main projects in civil engineering construction, earthwork has the characteristics of large amount of work, wide range of influence, and complex construction conditions. At this stage, earthwork quantity estimation is faced with problems such as long working hours and complicated work process. Therefore, in view of the shortcomings of traditional estimation methods, it is urgent to propose a new method for measuring earthwork quantity and visual progress. This paper calculates the earthwork quantity of an airport project, mainly introduces the modeling method of 3D real-scene model, and calculates the quantity according to the earthwork calculation process combining with the 3D real-scene model and BIM model, which has verified its feasibility.
