Abstract: To further promote the application of BIM technology in domestic construction industry, this paper starts from improving the operating conditions of construction general contractor, compares and analyzes the three kinds of BIM implementation modes driven by the owner, the supervisor and the construction general contractor respectively, and draws the conclusion that the BIM implementation mode driven by construction general contractor is the most motivated with the largest potential.Following is the specific analysis of two different types of BIM application on their corresponding implementation framework and process of BIM.Combining with actual project, the implementation effect of the mode is analyzed in details from four aspects, including the transformation of the status and management mode of general contractors, the improvement on operation conditions of the general contractor corporations, the role played in promoting the application of IPD mode, and the optimization of the building supply chain, which confirms the broad prospects for the practice of the mode.
