Abstract: In recent years, BIM technology has been increasingly applied in construction management to improve efficiency and cut cost. It is currently primarily thought to be a means of 3D visualization with less attention paid to data and information integration and exploration. This article elaborates the current application and future development of BIM technology in progress management, quality control, cost reduction, safety enhancement, contract management, information integration and coordination in construction projects, and explores the evolution of BIM from building information model to building information management.
