Abstract:
BIM models serve as carriers for various business information in the construction stage, and accurate processing of geometry and information is key to high-quality applications. The challenge in the industry is how to effectively integrate the model with business needs. Since construction site operations and management are typically divided by construction sections, BIM model segmentation based on construction sections is an approach to address this issue. This paper proposes a method of cutting model components according to construction section boundaries, aggregating both geometry and information into corresponding sections, thus enhancing the correlation between the model and business processes and enabling statistical application of project data by construction section. Therefore, studying the technical implementation of model segmentation during section division and exploring its application scenarios is crucial. The paper discusses the research ideas and implementation algorithms for applying HOOPS components in each step of the lightweight model segmentation process, and shares the pilot results from an apartment project.
