Abstract:
This paper explores the innovative strategies of combining the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model with Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and its application challenges in practice. Under the EPC model, the integration of design, procurement, and construction phases optimizes resource allocation and significantly reduces the project cycle. This model is particularly suitable for projects with high technical requirements and time sensitivity, ensuring the efficient advancement of the project. Although there is a gap between the application of the EPC model in China and the international advanced level, especially in the application of information technology, the introduction of BIM technology has provided new possibilities for improving project management efficiency. In this paper, we implement a BIM platform based on the global central database and a novel global unique coding technology for each element, which significantly improves the collaborative efficiency across teams, achieved seamless communication between organizational structures and the data exchange between different apps in different EPC steps, and reinforced the awareness of shared project risks, thereby providing a solid foundation for project success.
