Abstract: The widespread application of BIM technology is causing a transformation in the AEC industry. The application of BIM technology in the approval of AEC projects has become a focus of attention in related industries at home and abroad. This article discusses the model checking process of model quality checking and building code checking. From the four dimensions of approval process, digital method of standard specification, BIM model expression and inspection implementation method, the research results and application status of BIM electronic approval at home and abroad are analyzed. Under each classification, the most typical application cases are selected and expounded, and the development trend and direction of BIM electronic approval application in each dimension are summarized.
