Abstract:
There are many historical architectural heritages in Macau that have witnessed the development of Macau. In 2018, Macau's Ilha Verde Mountain was listed as a "place" with conservation significance by the Macau Cultural Affairs Bureau. The Ilha Verde Monastery, built between 1828 and 1834, is affected by historical causes, natural environment and human factors. The future development of valuable historical architectural heritage is still uncertain. The application of BIM technology can run through the entire process of informatization in urban planning, architectural design and engineering fields of construction, enabling coordination and collaboration among all departments. However, the uniqueness of historical buildings and their components is not part of the standardized BIM library. Therefore, the application of HBIM technology in the conservation and revitalization of historical heritage can realize the digital archiving of existing architectural remains and the improvement of historical materials, but the application of HBIM technology in Macau is currently almost blank. This paper takes the Ilha Verde Mountain Monastery as a case study, conducts preliminary research on the Ilha Verde Monastery through literature interpretation and current situation investigation, uses FARO to extract point cloud information and digital modeling (Revit, SketchUp) for restoration, and explores its application in the protection of Macau's architectural heritage.
