Abstract: It is common at present in sutructrual designing area that the models built in the computing softwares are transmitted into the BIM softwares, which reduces the BIM structural designing efficiency compared with adopting AutoCAD. It is necessary for structural design and plug-in development to create a structural model in BIM software and then to transmit into computing software. This paper takes the transmission of a model of frame and bent structure from Revit to STAAD.Pro as an example, to study some noticeable issues in Revit modeling and writing Revit data into*.std file, based on which we propose corresponding processing method and the improvemnt suggestions for Revit, STAAD.Pro & SSDD.
