Abstract: In this paper, development situation of BIM technology is introduced and the application of BIM technology in steel structure production and installation of the bridge of South loop railway is discussed.By the application of BIM, the workload of the preparation stage of the construction is reduced, and the work efficiency is improved; the cooperative work of all participants in the process of manufacturing and installation is enhanced; the construction simulation is conducive to optimizing the construction scheme.
