Under the background of the upcoming new archives law implementation, for the promotion of single-set electronic document archiving management promotion in the field of highway and water transportation engineering construction projects. Based on JAVA and SQL Server, this paper has developed an information management system architecture for highway and water transportation projects through integration of BIM + GIS technology. It aims to archive the visual mapping management of archival information text data and engineering geographic information data, structural geometry data, material attribute data, quality process data, and etc.
