In recent years, BIM has been applied to a certain extent in the field of geotechnical engineering. In this paper, 361 papers on the application of BIM technology in geotechnical engineering are studied and analyzed based on complex networks, thus quantifying the existing research hotspots, cluster relationships based on co-occurrence frequency. In terms of bibliometrics, Construction Technology is the journal with the most relevant literature published in China. In research contents, foundation pit project especially deep foundation pit is an important research object, and the existing research is mainly through the 3D visualization of the construction process, so as to carry out construction simulation, collision checking, deepening design, etc. In BIM software, Revit is the common software for geotechnical engineering BIM application, with less secondary development and research. Through complex network analysis, this paper analyzes the application of BIM Technology in geotechnical engineering from the aspects of literature metrology, research groups, core research, and puts forward three development suggestions of establishing an analysis system, improving the standard system, and promoting intelligent construction, which provide a reference for the development of BIM Technology in geotechnical engineering.
