As the "throat" of transportation infrastructure, bridge is an important part of traffic safety. With the rapid development of information technology and with the huge amount of large bridge in China, it is urgent to establish an intelligent management and maintenance platform for the operation of these bridges. In this paper, BIM and GIS integration technology is being applied to the project platform for intelligently managing and maintaining those existing bridges. The overall architecture and main functions of the platform are being introduced. It is a strategic and systematic process for operating, maintaining, and improving bridge asset by integrating macro geospatial information and micro structural information with lively acquiring the basic and monitoring information. It is very important to adopt high quality data during the analysis, inspection, and maintenance stages, therefore, the cost for the normal operation can be minimized and the working efficiencies can be improved.
