On the Enterprises′ BIM Demonstration Project Management Practice

In recent years, the BIM technology is under promotion in domestic construction industry of China, with many construction enterprises and architectural design enterprises formulated their own enterprise-level BIM technology development plans. All these plans will inevitably involve BIM demonstration projects. The authors of this paper has participated in the management of five batches of BIM demonstration projects in CSCEC in the past five years. In this paper, experiences are summed up concerning all the processes of BIM demonstration projects in construction enterprises including top-level planning, project declaration, process control, and acceptance and promotion. This paper also answers some questions like how should the management department of BIM demonstration projects guide BIM demonstration projects to apply BIM technology, as well as how to improve BIM application by promoting these demonstration projects. All these experiences can provide references for related enterprises that are carrying out BIM demonstration project management.

Study on BIM Completion and Delivery of Building Decoration Engineering

During the completion and handover progress of BIM application in construction engineering, a BIM completion model is required for submission. Based on the previous research on project completion delivery and BIM application process of decoration engineering, this paper applies different methods of literature review, comparison and practice to study the completion delivery and application of BIM completion delivery model for building decoration engineering. Through the analysis and comparison of the completion and delivery requirements before and after BIM application, as well as considering the engineering practice, the delivery process and delivery content after BIM application is summarized. By using the completion BIM model for settle accounts and final accounts, relevant experiences are concluded for references of other building decoration engineering.

A Study of Decoration Industry Informatization

Informatization is an important way to realize green building. From the beginning of this century, after more than ten years of development, decoration industry informatization started from scratch. in recent years, the promotion of BIM technology has led information technology to a higher new level. Based on Internet search, interview, field survey and other research methods, this article lists problems that the decoration industry informatization is facing and tentative solutions, summarizes the new experience of the decoration industry informatization: information system should adopt top-level design, and BIM technology should be applied. When applying BIM technology, the following should be considered: indoor performance analysis, 3D scanning, parametric decorative typesetting, 3D printing, Intelligent robort site measuring and marking, cloud platform collaboration, etc.. in this way, design and construction could be integrated, costs be saved considerably and the construction industry gains new strength. This practice may also ignites the steady development of related industries.

Application of BIM technology in building decoration projects is the last step to realize the whole life-cycleBIM technology application process.It is significant to study the application process of BIM technology in public building decoration projects for facilitating the realization of green building.Based on the previous research, relevant literature, engineering practice and industrial interviews, the author summarizes and improves the details of decoration engineering application of BIM technology at each stage, which providesreference for BIM technology application process in public building decoration projects.

Pretreatment Methods to Import CAD Design Documents into Revit in Decoration Engineering

Application of BIM technology in decoration engineering is significant for the complete application of BIM technology in the full process of green building construction.Currently, in the application of BIM technology into decoration engineering, CAD documents should be imported into Revit as a reference.In current engineering practice, there are a great number of CAD document's data, and these data are very complicated.When these documents are imported to Revit, errors are frequently found, which results in low efficiency.Based on her practice, the author summarizes different problems met when importing CAD files, makes tentative pretreatment methods to solve these problems, and proposes operation procedures, which might be used as a reference for BIM engineers in decoration engineering.

Practice of BIM Application on Residential Decoration Project based on DIM+Platform

Residential decoration projects possess characteristics of small volume, dependent on designer's scheme for signing, involving numerous professionals and technological links, and uncontrollable project cycle. This paper introduces a villa decoration project team using our independently developed platform by enterprise, 'DIM+', to apply BIM technology during the whole process from conceptual design to completion.Through collecting and sorting out all information generated or existed in different project phases, a decoration information model can be built precisely. Based on the model, the information can be transferred and used in the whole process of the project, and at the same time, multiple information systems can be operated collaboratively, which effectively achieves the BIM technology application in the residential decoration industry.

An Application Study on the BIM Technology of an Decoration Project based on Revit Software

Currently the application of BIM technology in the decoration industry is still ina groping stage.The author choosessome key space of a decoration engineering project, and makes an attempt to establish a data integration solution with three-dimensional model using Revit as a core software. The author adopts BIM technology in the whole process of scheme design, detailed design and construction process.In scheme design stage, some key space is selected and a BIM model is built, an effect diagram is rendered and a roaming animation is produced; in detailed design stage, the decoration BIM modelis detailed, HAVC, water supply and drainage systems, electrical system, fire fighting and drenches system are integrated in the model to avoid collisions between these models, and at the same time a decoration construction plan is produced; in construction stage, the BIM model not only provides a visualized operation guidefor workers, but also exports an adornment material list to guide the materail procurement and cost control. These practices help us to summarizethe principles and methods in the whole process of BIM technology's application in the decoration engineering, and evaluate it's application effects. These experieces and practice might serve as referencesfor the application and promotion of BIM technology in decoration projects.

An Application Study on the BIM Technology of An DecorationProject based on SketchUp Software

Currently some popular BIM modeling softwares seldom take into account the requirements of decoration engineering. As an important part of architechture construction engineering, decoration engineering's BIM application is still on the way of exploration, which directly results into the incomplete application of BIM in architechture construction. In this study, SketchUp, which is very popular in decoration engineering, is used as a modeling software to explore modeling methods and application motheds in a decoration project. As a result, the author realized a seamless smooth connection of BIM data produced in both decoration design stage and construction stage. At the same time, the author also uses the plug-in software 5D BIM for Sketchup, so that all the information concerning the materials could be read and calculated, and the construction scheduling as well as costs get controlled. In brief, the study disscusses a low cost BIM techonology application model which is applicable in China's decoration engineering, and also presents an example of its application.

A Study on the Difficulties in the Application of BIMTechnology in Decoration Engineering based on Revit

BIM is a key technology used in green building construction, of which decoration engineering is an important part. However, BIM technology application is still at a primary stage, and it is very difficult to apply BIM technology in the whole process. Based on a survey and interviews with the practitioners, this paper first makes an introduction to the background and practice of BIM application in decoration engineering based on Revit, and then lists all kinds of difficulties in the application of BIM. A detailed analysis is then made concerning the standards, functions of the software, families, streams of working processes, familiarity with the software, cooperation and integration, etc., so as to discuss the solutions and future development.

A Study on the Evaluation of BIM Application in Decoration Engineering Projects

At different stages of BIM application in decoration engineering projects, professionals of different posts from concerning parties would review and evaluate the models, and they are expected to give final evaluation reports.In the process of eValuation, the quality of the model is the crucial factor to judge whether BIM application is successful or not.HoweVer, the author has not found any research concerning review of BIM application in decoration engineering projects in China, and its evaluation standards have not been established yet in practice. Therefore, this article makes an analysis on the contents concerning BIM models to be reviewed at different stages by different parties, and proposes 4 principles—sufficiency of information, accuracy of data, and attractiveness of design and optimization of scheme.In addition, this article makes a summary on the work items, contents, evaluating methods and standards at different stages, so that these could be used as a reference for different parties in decoration engineering projects.
