The necessity of developing the envelop design software is discussed firstly in this paper. To develop the software, key technologies and problems are pointed out. After the software developed, we use it to solve several types of problems. By doing these, we come to the conclusion that the efficient envelop soft which waremeets our requirements in the function, and the result is correct.

In the detail structural steelwork, according to the problem of components in connection crashing at each other and the problem of the enough space of bolt installation, the paper expounds how to apply collision detection technology on steel structure designing software fast and effectively and then carries out reasonable test on component and node installation model. Based on bounding box and geometric data of objects in three-dimensional space obtained according to a certain rule, the paper deals with mutual relationship between spatial objects in the vector method and effectively solves the problem as well as finally programming collision detection model and bolt installation space test in the designing software of detail structural steelwork (STXT).

Considering the professional features of steel connection-joint design, this paper developed a new computer-aided design (CAD) program which is aiming at solving problems that the connection-joint design results unsuitable for human intervention of the software developed by our country. Program developing and researching is adopted the object-oriented development technique C++ to provide a flexible interactive function which can not only achieve the whole building's automatic connection-joint design of three-dimensional framework but also nodes merging, node design results modification and re-checking by designer. The program can make the connection-joint design of framework fast, simple and accurate to improve engineering efficiency. The achievement has been used in each module of the PKPM series steel structure design software as base class library of steel connection design in dynamic library plug-in form and obtained good application effects.

In that the traditional design methods for prefabricated buildings fail to meet the modularization and standardization of modern construction, problems arise including the low-efficiency of prefabricated building designing, disconnection between design and construction, and etc. For solving the problems, the PKPM-PC, a BIM-based analyzing and designing software for prefabricated buildings is developed, which provides calculation tools for prefabricated concrete components during the demoulding, transporting and hoistiong process, and implements functions including BIM modeling, structural analysis, 3D splitting and collision, collision detection, BIM-data directly used by component processing equipment, and etc. The PKPM-PC provides an easy-operated BIM design method for numerous design units, which improves design efficiency, reduces design errors, and promotes the process of housing industrialization.

H-shaped steel members with sinusoidal web is a kind of steel components with sinusoidal wave's web. There are many advantages of high efficiency's carrying capacity, good economy, and usually used in light-weight buildings with portal frames. It is introduced the main functions of the program for designing structure with sinusoidal web members in STS software. Through some cases analysis, comparison of steel weight by the design of sinusoidal web and flat web components using in portal frames and crane beam, sinusoidal web's economy index is given in paper.

According to the demand of the whole industry chain of prefabricated building, and based on the independent BIM platform, this project carries out the key technology research on the collaborative work of the prefabricated building design, production, transport and construction, establishes the BIM -based whole process application system of the prefabricated building, and applies it to the demonstration project application. Through the implementation of this project, independent intellectual property BIM platform, software, systems and standards are developed to provide technical support for the whole process application of the prefabricated building. The project fully explores the advantages of BIM technology information integration, improves design efficiency by more than 20%, and reduces 80% manual test and measurement, greatly reduces engineering cost, which has obvious social and economic benefits and promotes the sustainable development of the construction industry.

In this paper, Grid Method, which is usually used in finite element mesh generation, is now applied for rapid modeling of arbitrary polygon Grid Structure, and it's function is realized in SPASCAD (the software of space modeling)by the developing of program. The engineer only selects the beginning edges of polygons and determines orientation of Grid.The software can automatic forming the model of plate space frame.The basic element of plate space frame includes Square pyramid and Triangular pyramid. The software can greatly improve the engineer's efficiency, This work just is preliminary research for the Rapid modeling of irregular grids, structures, and more development is needed to be continue.
