Abstract:
Since the beginning of the 21st Century, application of digital technology has made rapid progress in the architecture field, and relationship between design and construction is integrated on the platform of digital technology. The world greets the tide of digitalized architectural design. At home and abroad, many excellent digital buildings appear. These buildings imply their own geometrical rules. With these rules, it can program or use the geometrical modeling software to establish the parameterization geometrical model. Combining with the professional software, it can form the physical model, which can be imported to the finite element software or structural calculation software to conduct analysis and calculation. Digital buildings have the mathematic rhythm. When the building and the structure integrate in a perfect way, it often creates the miraculous architectural form that is greatly different from the traditional forms and makes the people to give acclaim. In this Paper, taking the classical boy's curved surface and ellipsoid carbon cage form as the examples, specific parameterization modeling and structural analysis are described in details.

[Abstract](1047) [FullText HTML] (687) [PDF 5626KB](11)
Abstract:
The key factor of BIM implementation is the standardization and automation framework of construction drawing. For pragmatic reasons, the framework should not only support basic finite element analysis, drawing and estimation software but also different versions of AutoCAD. Technically speaking, automation, individuation, interaction and platform adaptability of the framework are the keys. Automation means high drawing speed and better drawing quality; individuation means the construction drawing framework is adaptable to different ways of drawing expression; platform adaptability means the framework is compatible for other drawing software; interaction means related drawings can modify themselves when a structure component is modified. In the end of the article, the process of implementation of standardization and automation framework is introduced.

Abstract:
The theory and practice study is carried out to solve problems of stability analysis method and load factor limits for large-span abnormal RC shell roof structure. One new stability analysis method is developed in Abaqus software which can consider strength failure of concrete material. The reasonable safety factor to the concrete shell is discussed when strength failure and buckling is coupled together, and the recommended value is 2.0. Finally, the practice study is carried out with Datong theatre project as a case. The results show that strength failure of concrete material is the main failure mode to this roof structure, and the comprehensive safety factor can meet the requirements. Analysis and evaluation methods used in this paper can provide reference for other similar structures.

Abstract:
According to the key requirements in schedule and resource management during construction, an approach for schedule-resource trade-off problem was established based on 4 Dimensional Building Information Model (4D-BIM) proposed by Tsinghua. With the transforming mechanics between 4D-BIM and Discrete Event Simulation model, schedule-resource trade-off model can be achieved automatically. In addition, the paper explores and analyses the process of SA algorithm in order to tackle the schedule-resource trade-off. The whole solution was applied to a real project and illustrated a good result. The result indicates that the automatic schedule-resource trade-off modelling can free people from intensive work, and reduces repetitive work, which provides managers with a practical tool for schedule arrangement and resource allocation.

Abstract:
The construction project is a collaborative multi-party organization activity, and each phase of the project life cycle has mutual transmission of information flow. At present, due to the subjective and objective factors in the life cycle of the architecture, there is often distorted information transmission, namely "the information isolated island" phenomenon. This phenomenon has greatly restricted the effective progress of the project, while the appearance of BIM technology provides an effective tool for solving the problem. Based on demand analysis, in the construction project collaborative mechanism, this paper establishes the construction project based on BIM technology as the core of the coordination model, analyzes the problem of construction project collaborative model in the actual work and puts forward some solutions, and provides the basis for building life-cycle process reengineering and improve the efficiency of the project.

[Abstract](1109) [FullText HTML] (638) [PDF 5314KB](20)
Abstract:
In recent years, China's construction industry set off a boom based on information revolution, in which "BIM technology" has played the most important role. It can not only realize visualization applications such as collision check and virtual construction projects but also related information database applications such as economic contract planning, short cycle multi-count contrast. However, exaggerated propaganda, unrealistic thoughts and unacclimatized software makes the "BIM technology" more and more mysterious and distant from the truth. But as a revolutionary technology of the construction industry, the achievements of "BIM technology" can never be neglected. It can optimize traditional working modes, improve working efficiency, carry out fine reformation of the extensive production mode, and realize BIM-based integration workflow of "design-contract-construction" (DCC-BIM). According to requirements of each stage of the integration workflow, BIM reconstructs elements based on certain standards and codes, and thus BIM application body plays a substantive value at a certain stage. Similarly, the combination of BIM technology with technologies such internet, cloud computing, point cloud, radio frequency and 3D printing would certainly play an invaluable role in the future smart city construction.

Wang Na
2014, 6(6): 112-116.
[Abstract](978) [FullText HTML] (704) [PDF 1606KB](15)
Abstract:
The new Humber River Hospital is a fully digital acute care facility of Canada. Its design-builder PCL Constructors Canada Inc. used virtual construction technology to identify elements of the project that could be delivered as offsite solutions fabricated in PCL's PMC production facility. By taking some of the challenges offsite, PCL was able to assist the schedule and reduce onsite logistical and manpower pressure on critical path activities. Besides, the factory setting provided a much more controlled environment to build in, which increased efficiency and enhanced quality on the project. BIM was used extensively in its modular business unit. BIM helped to identify portions of work, rather than individual trades, which increased the amount of prefabrication potential. It also automated more of the process in the shop, where the model was tied to CNC and other equipment to reduce errors and increase efficiency.
