Liu Feng
2011, 3(1): 1-5.
[Abstract](975) [FullText HTML] (673) [PDF 1645KB](11)
Abstract:
The trenching construction of a single diaphragm wall is simulated using the three-dimensional finite element method. The influences on the soil lateral movements and surface settlements of the factors, including the slurry pressure, the depth, width, and thickness of the wall are studied. It has been found that the soil lateral movements and surface settlements are sensitive to the slurry pressure and the width of the diaphragm wall, while the influence of the thickness of the wall is smaller. The results also show that when the depth of the wall is biger than a certain value, and the variation of the depth of the wall has little effect on the maximum soil lateral movement and surface settlement.

[Abstract](1401) [FullText HTML] (1008) [PDF 2743KB](11)
Abstract:
The crime and public safety in urban life is one of the most important public urban issues with the development of social market economic. As the large industrial parks which are the centers of industry-academic-research are significantly built, the crime prevention in these large industrial parks becomes more and more important. Closed-circuit television and guard patrol system are the major methods to prevent the crime through environment design. On the basis of environmental design and safe planning of large industrial park, this paper presents a mathematical model on the guard patrol system of large industrial park. Firstly, according to the distributions of buildings, roads, and sidewalks, the weak regions (relatively un-safe regions) can be obtained through the quantitative analysis of visibility, accessibility, and characteristic in the current site. Then, the track points of guard patrol system can be confirmed according to these weak regions. Finally, through the genetic algorithm, the tracks of guard patrol system are topologically optimized, and the best optimized guard patrol track is obtained. The case study illustrates the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed method.

[Abstract](1120) [FullText HTML] (1405) [PDF 6824KB](17)
Abstract:
Nanjing South Station is the large passenger station for Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway. The façade glass curtain wall over ground is exposed frame glass curtain wall and the maximum distance of frame Structure between fulcrums is the 27.8 meters, which belongs to typically large space and long-span structure. Because of the common effect of associated structure (rafters) and subsidiary structure (grilles), the suspension structure design for curtain wall is very complicated. In this paper, the north entrance curtain wall of Nanjing South Station is discussed and the solution of suspension structure for curtain wall is introduced. Finally, it reveals the method of long-span curtain wall design.

[Abstract](1338) [FullText HTML] (665) [PDF 4557KB](19)
Abstract:
In the 2l century, sustainable development becomes the common theme. For urban construction, development pattern must also be run from the traditional high consumption to green-oriented. Green building is the only way to implement this change and it is also the inevitable trend for today's world. Referring to green building design specifications, this paper proposes the way of constructing 3d integrative BIM (building information modeling) by computer technology. It carry out an integrated management for geometric information of building space, functional information of building space, data integration on geometry information, functional information, building materials, equipments and other related professional data in construction. It provides the necessary basis for analysis for the calculation of green building design and evaluation. The green building evaluation based on the "green building rating standards" is realized by using of three-dimensional data visualization technology. It can provide architect with an effective tools for green building design.

2011, 3(1): 67-72.
[Abstract](1126) [FullText HTML] (973) [PDF 4690KB](11)
Abstract:
Compare with the wind tunnel experiment, the virtual wind-tunnel simulation has many advantages, such as no experiment model, less design time and less implementation cost. In addition, the virtual wind-tunnel simulation has high accuracy in building's mean wind load and more detail than wind tunnel experiment. The advantages above make wind tunnel technology ideal for pre-selection and optimization of building structure. Taking the life ring of fushun as an example, this paper introduces the advantages of wind tunnel technology in structures' aerodynamic shape and shows results of wind load.

Cui Jiachun
2011, 3(1): 73-78.
[Abstract](1138) [FullText HTML] (690) [PDF 3963KB](15)
Abstract:
The project Expo Axis is a landmark building of Expo Shanghai 2010. Its roof system is composed of a cable-membrane structure and six free-form single-layer latticed shells named Sun Valley. Sun Valleys are different in shape and size and provide eighteen support points for cable-membrane structure. Because there is no clause used for free-form structure in current codes and specifications, it is difficult to carry on stability analysis for Sun Valleys. The Sun Valley NO.1 is studied for overall stability analysis in the paper. Ninety three load combinations are used in the process of buckling analysis, and D+0.7×L2+W315 is selected as control load for nonlinear overall stability analysis. And then with different initial conditions considered the influence of geometric nonlinearity, plastic properties of material and initial geometric imperfection on overall stability of the structure are researched. The results show that the stability load factor of structure can meet the relevant specifications of China in every condition. Some members enter the plastic state when first critical load is reached, so the structure will enter strength failure before overall unstable failure happen. The outputs of the study will provide useful reference for design and analysis of other free-form projects.
