Huang Zhibin, Cheng Jian, Huang Jun, Zhang Qunli
2014, 6(5): 1-5.
[Abstract](1209) [FullText HTML] (545) [PDF 2902KB](9)
Abstract:
The diagonal grid system does not have the traditional beams and columns, and only has the double-way crossed diagonal columns, and such columns form the tube body. This system has great lateral rigidity, and transmits force in the way of slant axial force. It can effectively overcome generation of the second order bending moment, make up the defect that the beam and column system cannot sufficiently resist the horizontal load, and the internal layout of the building is freer. The structure can be deemed as the supporting frame and tube system, and is different from the ordinary frame and tube structure. The exterior tube consists of diagonal rods that cross in double-way and encircle the external surface of the building continuously. It can overcome the weakness that additional slant bracing is needed if the traditional vertical column bears excessive force. In this paper, the dynamic elastoplasticity analysis for such structure under rarely-occurring earthquake is conducted using the ABAQUS software. For the diagonal grid system of the core tubes in different sizes, mechanical properties of the system under rarely-occurring earthquake action are analyzed.

[Abstract](1201) [FullText HTML] (616) [PDF 7976KB](8)
Abstract:
The reasonable task sublet and schedule is necessary in the process of large road construction projects. As a matter of fact, the optimization of construction task scheduling relies on the available resource sets. However, the resource sets usually have different executive capabilities for the same tasks(i.e.the resource systems are heterogeneous), which has been neglected in current research. This paper proposes an algorithm named MHEFT for construction task sublet and schedule on heterogeneous resource system, which is based on DAG model and a heterogeneous resource system model. The results of the application and extended simulation experiments, which use the data of Chengxiang Road construction project in Nanxiang community in Shanghai, prove the effectiveness and robustness of MHEFT.

[Abstract](1839) [FullText HTML] (1406) [PDF 1535KB](30)
Abstract:
Numerical simulation using finite element (FE) software packages has been widely adopted to investigate the seismic performance of large-scale structures, recently.Among these, Open System for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (OpenSees), as an open-source FE software program, has increasingly become one of the most influential packages. However, the computational efficiency of the matrix solvers currently cannot satisfy the demand for numerical simulation of large-scale structures.Consequently, two new, parallel, iterative linear solvers are proposed and implemented in OpenSees based on two graphic processing unit-based (GPU-based) libraries. The time history analysis of two typical large-scale structures are performed using the proposed solvers. The speed-up ratio of the proposed solvers are up to 9 to 15 (achieved with high accuracy in results). The research outcome can provide an effective computing technology for further numerical analysis of the seismic behavior of large-scale structures.

[Abstract](1090) [FullText HTML] (645) [PDF 2461KB](10)
Abstract:
BIM (Building Information Modeling), as one of the major innovations in the past decade, has a broad and far-reaching impact on Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. However, BIM are mostly applied in the design and construction phases of the building, not in the building Life-Cycle Facility Management (FM).Past studies indicate that two thirds of the cost incurred as result of ongoing facility operation and maintenance activies during the building life-cycle.To address this issue, this study aims to propose a novel cloud-based BIM facility management platform (the 9Directions®solution), accounting for the limitation and chanlleges for the current isolated BIM facility management system, i.e., inframented information, information redundancy, and disconnected information flow or even the loss.By implementing this platform, FM team has a data-enriched, object-oriented, intellegient and paramenter-integreated, database-centralized, cloud-based and visualized BIM FM system, which would greatly improve the efficiency in facility operation and management.A case study is provided finally to demonstrate how to use the 9Directions solution to support facility management in heatlthcare environments.

Abstract:
Application of BIM technology in decoration engineering is significant for the complete application of BIM technology in the full process of green building construction.Currently, in the application of BIM technology into decoration engineering, CAD documents should be imported into Revit as a reference. In current engineering practice, there are a great number of CAD document's data, and these data are very complicated. When these documents are imported to Revit, errors are frequently found, which results in low efficiency.Based on her practice, the author summarizes different problems met when importing CAD files, makes tentative pretreatment methods to solve these problems, and proposes operation procedures, which might be used as a reference for BIM engineers in decoration engineering.

Abstract:
"Information Isolated Island" phenomenon is restricting the construction industry life cycle management efficiency, and the participating parties are reluctant to share information, which often leads to the emergence of a large number of changes in construction.Based on the unified standard of BIM, the information of all the participants in investment, design, construction, completion stage is created and transmitted in strict accordance with the unified BIM standard, avoiding the information flow distortion during transmission.Firstly, breaking the traditional narrow understanding of BIM, its location in the broad sense as a mechanism raises and establishs BIM standards based on IFC standard in this mechanism.Secondly, the introduction of the system entropy value indicates the degree of order to establish the full life cycle of information transmission architecture model based on entropy and information technology. Finally, on the basis of BIM standards and information transmission model, a building life-cycle collaborative framework is proposed, in order to reduce post-construction changes, which provides a basis for solving the whole process of building "Information Isolated Island" phenomenon.
